My body clock forbade the coveted sleep I had intentionally scheduled. The habit of rising early in the morning beckoned me even on vacation. After incessant tossing and turning in an unfamiliar bed, I reluctantly arose and headed to the kitchenette to make coffee.

Taking time away from the grind to concentrate on self-care is imperative for health and vitality. While I regularly counsel others to make this a priority in their lives, I know that I must implement this wise practice every year. Rest, refreshment and renewal are three critical necessities for holistic wellness.
