RED BOILING SPRINGS — A slow third quarter cost Red Boiling Springs last Tuesday as Watertown’s boys blew open a close game in a 41-29 triumph.
The Bulldogs were within 16-15 at halftime before Watertown dominated the third quarter 17-2 to go up 32-18. The Tigeres held an 11-9 edge following the first quarter.
Freshman post Carlos Shannon led Watertown with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Braylin Caruthers and Devon Brown had 10 points apiece, with two 2-pointers each.
Aayden Cherry threw in three triples in leading Red Boiling Springs wit 15 points. Hayden Gentry dropped in two triples for his six while Tyler Lancaster finished with five and Michael Murphy three.
The Bulldogs followed with a 72-30 setback to visiting Jackson County last Friday.
Jackson County led 26-6 at the first-quarter break and 32-12 at halftime.
Will McGrary led four Blue Devils in double figures with 19 points. Parker Patterson pumped in a pair of 3-pointers on his way to 14 while Alex Meadows threw in 13 and Aeden Netherton 12.
Lane Smith led Red Boiling Springs with nine points while Cherry added eight, Murphy seven and Gentry six.
