Representatives from the Trousdale County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, the Wilson County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, the Lebanon Police Department, Mt. Juliet Fire Department and Putnam County EMA, along with supporters of Crossroads Mission Care, attended a benefit banquet on March 3 to support programs for first responders in the Middle Tennessee area.
Be a Hero to Heroes was held at the Historic Arcade in Lebanon. Guests at the banquet learned about the programs offered by Crossroads Mission Care and how they could partner with the 501C3 organization that provides restorative hospitality, support programs and on-site training to those who serve others.
鈥淥ur volunteers and table hosts knocked it out of the park for the event,鈥 said Gil Carter, Director of Operations. 鈥淲e had a BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal) to raise funds for the night and met about 25% of it. We hope the visibility leads to additional funding opportunities.鈥
A live auction of decadent desserts and items such as tickets to the Grand Ole Opry raised additional funds for the event. Ongoing financial goals for Crossroads Mission Care include raising $25,000 for building projects for responder safe spaces on the property, $5,000 for ongoing programming services and $12,000 for additional staffing.
An event to mark your calendars for is the First Responder Alpha Games organized by Crossroads Mission Care. The competition is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Jimmy Floyd Family Center in Lebanon from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. First responders from middle Tennessee counties will compete in division specific events in team and individual competitions.
Crossroads Mission Care is in Dixon Springs. More information about services offered by the organization, volunteer opportunities or to donate to CMC can be found at .
