Global Vision Bible Church was unable to close on a property in Lebanon after announcing that it would be moving in August.
Global Vision Bible Church Pastor originally announced to his congregation in August that the church would be moving to the building at 310 Coles Ferry Pike in Lebanon. At the time, Locke stated that the church had $250,000 to get into escrow and needed to raise $5 million for the purchase of the property. He told his congregation that they would have 30 days to close.
The property is currently owned by Love鈥檚 Way Church and includes a 27,720-square-foot church building on 2.23 acres. It was listed at $5.8 million.
The sale鈥檚 cancellation was confirmed by Love鈥檚 Way Church Senior Pastor Johan McGregor in a social media message.
鈥淭he church in Mt. Juliet was unable to close and we will continue to pray for them God鈥檚 blessing and favor in the next season,鈥 McGregor said on social media.
McGregor stated that Love鈥檚 Way Church will continue meeting at its current building on Coles Ferry Pike for the next few months. The site plans for the church鈥檚 new location were recently approved.
Love鈥檚 Way Church held a groundbreaking ceremony at its new property at 1315 Murfreesboro Road in Lebanon on Aug. 22.
At its current location at 2060 Old Lebanon Dirt Road in Mt. Juliet, the Global Vision Bible Church congregation meets in a large tent on the property. The church has also held large events on Old Lebanon Dirt Road that have resulted in traffic issues.
Global Vision Bible Church has faced lawsuits, including one filed in 2023 by Wilson County involving work done on the property without permits. Neighbors have also filed petitions about the noise produced by the church.
