Born May 4, 1935, in Scottsboro, Alabama, he is the son of the late Clarence and Vera Mae Petty Berry.

Sgt. Maj. Thomas L. Berry, 89, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at his home.
Born May 4, 1935, in Scottsboro, Alabama, he is the son of the late Clarence and Vera Mae Petty Berry.
He retired in 1986 from the United States Army after thirty years of active duty. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Fleming Berry, March 8, 2020; a son, Thomas Lee Berry Jr.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Tallman and Heather Berry; sister, Elizabeth Bishop; and three brothers, Charles, Aaron and Jerry Berry.
He is survived by four of his children, Teresa Ann Berry, Doreen (John) Emerick, Mark Wilkerson and Millie (Brad) VanHook; four grandchildren, Hope Morris, Thomas J. Berry, Jacob Emerick and Arrington Vanhook (Easton) Thorne; three brothers, Aaron, Eugene and Paul Berry; several great-grandchildren; and great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Jacob Lannom officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
