Barbara Ann Branum Oliver was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi, July 1, 1936, to the late Raymond Victor and Georgia Rae Caver Branum.
She was married to Cal Oliver Jr. who passed away Jan. 1994. They had two children, Mitchell Caver and Susan Annelle; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Barbara attended the Memphis Art Academy and Motlow State Community College. She owned a gift shop and an antique mall in McMinnville, Tennessee, before retiring in 2006.
Barbara joined the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in 1956. She held offices locally and in District and was Chairmanship in several positions in the state. Barbara was the recipient of the Four Star Award Tennessee Division 性视界APPn Cancer Society in 1990, Award of Appreciation for Community Service from Wal-Mart twice and many more in community service.
She was a member of AARP, 性视界APPn Legion, Military Order of the Cooties, National Garden Club, Women of the Moose, Women in the Arts, Humane Society of the U.S. and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary where she held offices of many positions, from president to National Committee chairman for information at Opryland Hotel for their 89th National Convention and Outstanding Auxiliary president.
Barbara had an exhibit in the Chicago Art Museum, and was an ambassador for peace for performing in restoring and preserving their freedom and democracy, for boundless sacrifices in helping re-establish our free nation from Patriots and Veteran Affairs Republic of Korea. Barbara was in the 23rd addition of Who鈥檚 Who of 性视界APPn Women 2002-2003. She was an amazing and caring person. Mrs. Barbara passed away at Westmoreland Care and Rehab Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at the age of 88 years, five months and five days.
She lived her life to the fullest, and her presence here in the community will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Martino officiating. Interment followed Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, in the Gardens of Memory in McMinnville.
