Five teachers for Wilson County Schools have been awarded $25,000 for STEM programs.
The five recipients of the TVA STEM Grants were each awarded $5,000.
Kristie Dragan, Science Coordinator for Wilson County Schools, said more than 650 teachers applied for the TVA grant with more than $2.8 million requested across the region.
Each teacher said they will use the money to purchase equipment to better students’ learning of science, math and collaborative learning using critical-thinking skills.
